Short term care

Short term care

We support people in need of care and their relatives in our GFO Center Dinslaken - Living, Care & Waking Coma St. Franziskus with short-term care. It is there for people who need to be cared for briefly in an inpatient care facility because home care cannot be provided or cannot yet be provided to the extent required.

Short-term care can be used in two situations:

  • as a bridging measure after treatment in hospital, until the patient returns home to their own apartment,
  • in so-called crisis situations. These include illness, vacation, or hospital and rehab stays of the caregiver. A "crisis" is also considered to be when the need for care comes as a surprise and, for example, the person's own home first has to be converted accordingly or when a phase has to be bridged until the person moves into a nursing home permanently.

All persons recognized as needing care with care grades 2 to 5 are entitled to short-term care. Under certain conditions, short-term care can also be claimed for care grade 1. We will be happy to provide you with more information in person.

Short-term care is possible for a period of 56 days per year. The costs are partly covered by the nursing care insurance. You can find the amount of the own part HERE.
